Frequently
Asked Questions |
How
do I get started with the marketing process?
Simply mail a copy of the book to us here at EPB. Include:
- Any Reviews
that you may have already received
- A Synopsis
of the book (written by you or written by us)
- A Picture
of your self (preferably professional),
- A Biography
including your favorites i.e.; Movie, Actor, Song, Singer, Place,
Food, Restaurant, City, State, Name, Color (This makes the biography
more personal).
It is
important that we read your book. Having first-hand knowledge of your
book and what it contains will make it much easier for us to come
up with a first-rate press release.

What
is the basic cost of your service?

What
service do I receive?
Your
book will be entered into the appropriate data bases such as…………..
- Approximately
20 Press Release Packages will sent to Book Reviewers.
- EBP will
serve as a contact point for those interested in your book.
- EBP
will design and print 25 order forms for you to send out to acquaintances.
- EBP
will send the same order form to you via email for you to send out
over
the internet.

you have additional services?
Yes.

$195;
5 Million for $300
-
A printed interview will be composed and mailed out to 5 magazines
at the cost of $45.

How
many books will I sell? How much money will I make?
EBP cannot guarantee any book sales, but will make all contracted
efforts to make the author’s book available for purchase.
|
The success of
your book depends on the amount of effort that you are willing to
put into it. Many authors make contacts with the audience that their
book is geared toward. For example, Garland Favorito’s book,
Our Nation Betrayed, is a political best seller. Why? Because Garland
has a full-page ad in The Washington Times. Advertising sells books.
He has had radio hosts seek him out because of this ad.
Another author,
Dr. Bree Keyton, advertises in Christian magazines, has her own web
site, and travels the Mid-West promoting her books.
Richard Yokley,
who wrote T.V. Firefighters, attends firefighting conferences and
museums, and also affiliates himself with firefighting newsletters.
Bookstores and firefighting specialty stores contacted by EBP have
also carried his book.

Beverly Sumwalt’s
Druk’s Path sold many copies using the email order form. Beverly’s
acquaintances were not put on the spot to purchase her book. She emailed
the form so that they could discreetly buy or ignore her book.
Royal LaPlante
frequently visits the Border’s and Dalton Books along the NorthWest
Coast selling his collection of books. He has made himself known to
the managers and does not have any problems getting book signings.
Wilma Edwards and
her book Shandor have become familiar in Del Mar, CA at various bookstores
such as Barnes & Noble. Wilma gave her friends a discount of 25%.
Giving books away free doesn’t make you any money. Remember
that.

Mel Epstein’s
BRANDICAPPED? (a book about product branding) is being used as teaching
material at a university in the Texas. Mel contacted the university,
sold himself and his book to the establishment.
EBP will
be contacted when someone wants to purchase. We in turn will contact
you. Since we will not be responsible for getting the orders out,
we will not take a percentage of the money paid for the book.
How
will I get paid for the sales of my books that are ordered from EBP?
Payment go to you from the printer of your book since that is where
they are ordered from.
Will
my book be in bookstores?
Your book will be on the appropriate databases that bookstores can
order from.
|
|
How
long will you represent me and my book?
The efforts of marketing your book will be performed for one year.
Will I
be doing book signings and/or interviews?
Honestly, national book signings and interviews are available only
to very famous, high-profile authors. But, your local bookstores and
community events will be much easier to schedule. They are usually
happy to have you. Make yourself well-known to the managers and get
your foot in the door.
Who
will be responsible for outstanding invoices from bookstores and the
like?
As stated before, orders coming to EBP will be passed on
to you. We will not be held responsible for overdue invoices that
may result from non-payment.
